Christian is an experienced digital executive and angel investor with core expertise in strategy, marketing and business/ corporate development. He’s passionate about helping companies grow their business, whether it’s hands-on or by connecting them to the right people.
Recently, Christian served as SVP, Head of Marketing at Indiegogo from 2015-2016 after having been a working with Indiegogo since 2013. Prior to that, Christian served as SVP Corporate Development (2011-2013) and General Manager, Alloy Digital (2009-2011), where he was responsible for M&A (7 buy-side transactions and one fundraise) strategic direction, marketing, product and technology and managed the P&L for a fast growing team. He also served as General Manager for Takkle, a prominent college recruitment website for high school sports, which was acquired by Alloy in early 2009. Christian has also held senior management roles for Cellfish Media and Bertelsmann where he was responsible for a large e-commerce business.
Christian serves on the board of Above Average (Broadway Video spin-off), the board of Pruftechnik AG and is an active investor in early stage startups. Christian is a frequent speaker at industry events, avid traveler and fluent in English, German, and Spanish.

Co-Founder & Executive Director of the LMU Entrepreneurship Center and the German Entrepreneurship GmbH, Andy is also Co-Founder & Managing Director of Deloitte Digital GmbH, a company dedicated to building digital businesses for Fortune 500 level firms. A serial entrepreneur with 32 years of experience in founding, financing, building and accelerating companies, Andy sold his software company to the publicly listed Avanquest Software in 2003, served as COO Europe until 2009 and as a Board Member until 2014.
The accelerator at the LMU, the top ranked university in Germany, has spawned over 165 companies in 7 years. Andy has also led the launches of The Allianz Digital Accelerator & The Volkswagen DataLab. Andy is co-founder of the Social Entrepreneurship Akademie in Munich and a founding member of 4Entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurial Think Tank of the 4 Munich Universities and holds teaching positions at the LMU (Munich University), the HFF (Munich Film and Television University) and at the EM Lyon Business School in France.
Prof. Dietmar Harhoff

Since 28 February 2007 Prof. Dietmar Harhoff has been chairman of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation that has been appointed by the Federal Government of Germany.
Prof. Harhoff is director at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and head of the department Munich Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research (MCIER). He is Honorary Professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich (LMU) and Academic Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the LMU. From 1998 to 2013 he was professor of business administration at the LMU and chaired the Institute for Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (INNO-tec).
After his training as a graduate engineer in mechanical engineering at the University of Dortmund, he first worked as a research engineer in the UK and Germany. After that he finished a master degree as McCloy scholar at Harvard University, followed by a doctoral degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 1991 to 1998 he initially worked as research group manager and then – from 1995 – as vice director at the Center for European Economic Research in Mannheim. He habilitated in 1996 at the Department of Economics at the University of Mannheim. In 1998 he took his current position at the University of Munich. In October 2007, Prof. Harhoff was granted a senior research professorship for four years. From January 2010 to September 2010 he was Visiting Professor at Stanford University in the U.S.
As a scientific adviser he is working for a number of public and private organizations, among others he is a member of the Standing Advisory Committee (SACEPO) of the European Patent Office (EPO) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). In 2007, Prof. Harhoff was nominated by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine to be one of the 50 most influential people in the field of Intellectual Property. Since 2008, he is an elected member of acatech (Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften) and since 2010 he is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina).

Dirk Kanngiesser is the co-founder and CEO of the German Silicon Valley Accelerator. He is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist having been involved in the founding of many German and international start-ups. He is the principal founder and a Managing Partner of PolyTechnos, a transatlantic venture capital group. He has over 20 years of Venture Capital experience, mostly in partner roles. Dirk is also a partner of Cartagena Capital, a Munich based international investment advisory firm. Dirk has strong expertise in growth strategy definition and execution, and global business development in the ITC space.
He previously held a Partner position at Baring Private Equity Partners which gave him access to one of the most privileged networks in the investment industry. Prior to that, he worked at Procter & Gamble and Siemens, where he was an operative in brand management, product development, and project engineering.
Dirk serves(d) on the board of a number of international start-ups and has been an active angel investor. His most recent start-ups he co-seeded are AppCentral (U.S.) and Hemacon (Germany, India). He invested and/or has served on the board of a number of European success stories such as Danionics (IPO Copenhagen) and Gemplus (IPO France / Netherlands). He has laso served on the boards of a number of Venture Capital firms and as a member of the EVCA High Tech Committee. Dirk was a member of the German stock exchange task force in the creation of the Neuer Markt.
Dirk has studied in the U.S. and Europe and holds a dual citizenship (U.S. and German). He received his degree (Dipl. Ing.) in electrical engineering from Dortmund, Germany, and his MBA from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He served at the German Airforce Headquarters and holds a U.S. commercial pilot license. Dirk lives in the U.S.

Matthias Notz is the Managing Director at the German Entrepreneurship GmbH in Munich. He works as a consultant and senior project manager at the interface between start-ups, universities and industries. He has been involved in various projects with renowned companies and educational institutions in the fields of intra- and entrepreneurship advancement, in the setup of strategic partnerships and in fundraising.
Matthias has contributed substantially to the development of fundraising and also to the partnership structures at the LMU Entrepreneurship Center which supports young and innovative German startups by providing them with infrastructure, training and networks – and he passionately drives its continuous progress.
At the German Accelerator, Matthias is responsible for the acquisition and management of partners- and sponsorships based in Germany, as well as the budgeting and financial reporting activities in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. He believes that strong ties with both German and U.S. network partners and also a sound financial basis, will promote the further success of the German Accelerator, and thus strengthen the transatlantic entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Matthias graduated with highest honors in Business Administration and has continuously broadened his knowledge and expertise far beyond the academic education through his previous work experiences in both public and private organizations. He has held numerous speeches, seminars and workshops for startups, universities and companies nationwide and enthusiastically represents his family’s tradition of entrepreneurial thinking and keeping a can-do mentality.
